CAT STEVENS

Cat Stevens was born Steven Georgio. He was one of the most influential artists of the 1970s. Although an Englishman his success was more pronounced in the USA and other places such as Australia. Songs such as Morning Has Broken, Peace Train and Father and Son highlighted his great voice and tone.

Cat Stevens converted to Islam in December 1977 and was henceforth known as Yusuf Islam.
