SLADE were a massive Glam Rock band in the UK. They had 6 number on hits including Cum Feel the Noise. The song was inspired by lead singer, Noddy Holder whose real name was Neville, who said the noise and energy from the crowd`s at Slade concert would pound into his chest.
Released in 1973, the song went straight to #1 being the first time that happened in the UK since the Beatles, Get Back in 1969. The BABY BABY BABY vocal at the start, was actually Noddy testing the microphone in the studio and was not meant to be on the recording.
