From the 1977 monster album, Rumours Never Going Back Again took so long to complete that it was finally recorded in Los Angeles after the majority of the album had been completed. The song is a warning from Lindsay Buckingham, to himself who having broken up with Stevie Nicks, was in another relationship and wished to avoid mistakes of the past
It was covered by Matchbox Twenty in 1998 for the various artist album, Legacy - A tribute to Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours.
