The song was written by Stevie Nicks when she grew bored of having nothing to do whilst the other member of the band were busy with various tasks. She went away from the studio and was moving around the Record Plant studio which was huge, when she met up with Sly Stone of Sly and the Family Stone who said he had a quiet place to write if she wanted it, it was a secluded and mostly unknown quadrant of the complex. Nicks wrote the song while laying on his bed near his studio
