From the 1984 Album, Twentieth Century the song was written about Don Walker's childhood memories of NSW Country town of Grafton. At the time of producing the film clip for the song, the band were arguing with Jimmy Barnes to the point where his part in the clip was from recorded segments of Last Man Standing video. Jimmy Barnes claims things were so bad, he wasn't told they were making the video for the song.
